  • Media files and ZIP archives are written to a temporary server directory (`tmp/`) and are automatically deleted immediately after delivery or via automated cleanup sweeps.
  • No permanent record of the file or URL is retained.

3. Cookies & Local Storage

We use minimal client-side storage strictly for functional purposes:

  • Theme Preference (`localStorage: ytdl-theme`): Stores your dark/light mode choice so it persists across page visits.
  • Language Selection (`cookie / URL parameter`): Remembers your preferred interface language.

We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies.

4. Server Logs

Our web servers may collect standard, anonymized technical logs (IP address, browser type, operating system, timestamp) for the sole purpose of detecting abuse, preventing DDoS attacks, and ensuring server stability. Our application interacts with YouTube/Google servers via yt-dlp strictly to fetch public media on your request. We do not embed third-party tracking scripts, social media pixels, or analytics trackers on our site.

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, automated temporary file cleanup, and strict server access controls to ensure your data remains secure during transit and processing.
